Northrise University - News Room
NU Classes held at Kuhula House!

After many months of waiting, Northrise University’s dream of having classes at the main campus has finally come to light. Yesterday, May 4th 2011, NU held its very first classes at Kuhula House, the Business Building at the main campus. Students who attended classes there have nothing but praise for the top-notch building and furnishing.

One student said, “it’s unbelievable how awesome this place is... so serene, and I just love it…”

I certainly agree: you fall in love with the place the very moment you enter the gates. The quiet and peaceful surrounds prove a perfect complement to the building, making it ideal for learning. And, it’s absolutely a place full of color.

New NU Student Council Executive Elected into Office...

With these few words, "I will be a voice of the student body to the faculty and I have enough confidence to speak for the people", Nzuka Maambo has managed to beat the other 10 nominees for Student President.  A second year BIT student was announced as President of the Student Council at 11: 30 hrs by the outgoing President, Kanyanta Mubanga. The position of Vice President was scooped by Tulemye Mpengula who can be described as friendly. Andrew Mutuna and Lucia Nsontaula returned as Treasurer and Secretary respecitvely.   Kaongolo Nyambe and Choolwe Mwiinga have been elected as committee members bring the total to six (6) members. We wish the Student Council Executive  the very best and look forward to the service that Northrise University students will recieve. Kudos to you all!

NUCare! On Campus Clinic...

In November 2010, Northrise University broke ground for a clinic to be called NUCare! The University embarked on this project in order to help facilitate health care services to its students, staff, faculty and surrounding community. Thor Development, a construction company in Zambia was awarded the contract and has since begun works. NUCare! will offer basic health services  for Northrise University and the surrounding community as access to health care has been a challenge. Having a health center on Campus means peace of mind… Peace of mind for the parents; being able to send their child to a university without over worrying when their child is sick. Peace of mind for students; being able to enjoy learning without the stress of how to access health care. Peace of mind for faculty and staff; being able to work with joy knowing that when they or their family member is unwell, care is available. Peace of mind for the community; it comforting to know that at last a clinic is within reach. Most importantly a peace of mind for Northrise University; knowing that it can offer basic health care, turning it from a privilege to a right because a healthy student is a healthy community; a healthy community is a healthy Zambia.
