Grade-Point Average (GPA)

GPA stands for Grade Point Average. It is a measure of a student's academic achievement. The GPA system is used by many academic institutions for evaluating the overall scholastic performance of students. There are many "scales" used to calculate GPA. Currently, Northrise University uses the 4.0 scale. It is the responsibility of the student to know how to calculate the GPA in the first term when they matriculate at NU.

All Northrise University courses satisfying the diploma and degree requirements must be completed with a grade point average of at least 2.00 for undergraduate programs. If a student enrolled in a diploma or degree program and achieves a GPA of less than 2.00 at course completion, they will be awarded a "lesser" qualification than the award they initially applied for.

The minimum GPA for graduation in postgraduate programs is 2.50. If a student enrolled in a graduate program achieves a GPA of less than 2.50 at course completion, they will be awarded a "lesser" qualification than the award they initially applied for.
